a good win eventually but first half was a struggle and some poor defending took the shine off of the 3 points. We started off 4-5-1 and generally looked in control, to be fair we played some reasonable football at times and Josh broke the deadlock after playing a one-two off the keepers nose before heading into an empty net. assuming we would continue to press i think Malc had a rush of blood and passed it straight to their striker who had an easy task off knocking it into the space behind for their winger to run on to and finish. shane then decided it was too hot and called for a sub so enter andy ash. it wasn't too long before sam ran on to a through ball to cross. chris finding some time to slot away and 2-1 was how it stayed until half time. the first half was quite comfortable with the midfield dominating, even though the defence was wobbling and the strikers (or Dan) were deciding instead of scoring they would blaze over or pass it back to the keeper. Morty decided to change it around and go 4-4-2 which we looked a lot more comfortable with. the second half started well and it wasn't long before dan made it 3-1 nodding in at the far post. i think their second goal came after malc ran under the ball and their striker again finished (dont quote me but im sure heard him say thank ***** for that fat useless tossbag as he ran back past malc, his words not mine!) so game on. this was the point we pulled our finger out and really started to make use of their slightly worse back line. chris added a fourth then dan scuffed in his second after a sublime ball from josh in goal (the first time he kicked it straight i reckon) and then he completed his hat-trick again after good work down the right. there was a double substitution with rob replacing sam and shaun replacing ash (both did well after coming on) chris completed his hat-trick soon after with a cracking finish into the top corner (Bradley has started to tie his laces before a game which has really helped him) before an absolutely beauty of a cross field pass (at least 40 yards) from Brad sent jimmy on his way via their striker, in amongst the confusion mainly due to them never seeing quality like that before, baker was able to sneak forward and hit a bobbling effort into the corner for his second. (it was such a bad scuff i asked the ref to chalk it off and start with a drop ball but he just wanted to go home as he was so embarrassed with our defending).dan then added his fourth and shaun managed to shin one into the back of the net after a balerina roll on the goalline (2 minutes later he had an easier chance that he put wide, this deserves a mention as it defied the laws of physics as he was pretty much dead centre of goal and about a yard out). East Cowes then proceded to venture forward on a rare attack which ended with a top class save from josh after a through ball was met on the volley and it was heading for the bottom corner before josh tipped it around the post. i think they scored from the corner, a bit of pinball in the box dropped to their centre back who lashed it home. and with 30 seconds left on the clock chris ran through to grad his fourth, our 11th and really rub salt in the wounds as i heard their player say they were going to have the last laugh.

overall the goaly did well (when not given dodgy back passes from ash), the defence did ok in parts (malc had a shocker but at least he will only get better but the other 3 were solid) the midfield dominated for nearly 90 mins and the strikers started to fire second half. we know we can play better but the signs are good. top of the league and el captano maintains his 100% start along with the team.

P.s if i got the order wrong or missed any i apologise im going on info from Baker. and Levi dont worry about rushing back, when the rain starts we'll have a few boots for you to clean though.
