firstly i would like to say i am disappointed with Bucko, Sam and Malcy for a piss poor effort on the costumes. even Dan turned up looking like a homeless Jesus in a dress so there was no excuse.
The game started off in unspectacular fashion with some shocking football and the highlight was malcy getting booked for a little hack at therir striker and brad getting pulled up by the ref for two superb tackles which was to be the theme.
we continued to have good possession and after some good interplay wanrob found himself in the middle of goal and after a decent shot their left back handled the ball which then somehow ended up in the back of the net. we appealed for a penalty but after a bit of a think the ref gave a goal and a yellow card. this was followed by a little lecture after dan storey was waving an imaginary card, shouting send the cheating c**t off while trying to strip in protest!! luckily no further cards were shown.
we continued to look reasonably comfortable without creating many more chances. wanrob had one or two half chances but couldn't quite finish.
into the second half the ref continued to call the captain over every 2 minutes to winge about every player and then decided to book sam for wearing jewellery. i mention this because malcy still had his boyfriends love ring on his helmet and after a gentle squeeze the ref noticed he hadn't taken it off and then looked as if he was going to show a second yellow and a subsequent red. however after malc had a little hissy fit he was told to remove it and we carried on. pretty shocking from the ref, i asked for a second yellow but he said it would be unfair to southsea to remove one of our two handicaps, the other being his centre back partner spiersy caesar!!
rob and ash missed glorious chances to add to our lead which gave ash the clown of the match and josh tried to pick a fight with their centre back. another theme that would run on through the night!! then brad was stranded in the centre mid after josh pretended to be injured, before shane was brought on and ended up playing in every position possible before the ref blew for full time and we take our position in the next round.
thanks to the hoff who did a superb job and to everyone who travelled and dressed up!
congratulations to sam, josh and dan for taking the phrase 'carry the fight' to a new level later in the evening against some bloke who was nearly as big as valuev!!
and lastly thanks to brad for having an amazing memory and being able to write this report.
