as we strolled towards the pitch for the first game of the decade we were given a hero's welcome by a couple of mini hooligans chanting pan army and screaming you're going to lose and you're going down!! encouraging start.

after the most taxing warm up ever seen in coburg colours we started like a turd in the sun. 2 minutes in, after malcy failed to clear and then ben waved his foot like a little balerina at the ball their winger ran on to it and fired high into the net. the worst start imaginable.

it went from bad to worse as 5 minutes later hardman baker went in for a 50/50 block tackle and came out nursing alleged knee ligament damage. no proof has been provided apart from a slight limp which could just as easily come from excessive use of mr moreteys fun time shower and soap set he got for xmas!!

back to the game and after the switch around it saw brad move to centre mid and dan s go to the right. a bit disappointing as bradley ronaldo didn't touch the ball on the wing, but did end up doing ok in the middle. we started to get back in to the game and after 10 minutes we were having the best of the play before some good work between ash and ben sent in a cross, first to get to the loose ball was moody who passed the ball in to the net to equalise. game on. there were then 2 goals in as many minutes from the work horse that is levi, much deserved after terrorising the non existant defence with his stealth like karate movement. this ensured we moved towards half time with a commanding lead.

pan started to lose their heads a bit and after some tasty tackles they left ben open on the left, he took the ball forward before cutting inside and firing in to the far corner. another impressive performance from ben capped with a good goal.

the defence continued to stop any pan attacks and after the first 5 or so minutes they looked solid and pretty good. (which it pains me to say!!)

half time came and went which saw one pan player withdrawn after the red mist had descended late in the first half!! we started the second half the same as the first and continued to push pan back.

chris got two more goals to add to his tally for the season before capping another decent performance with a classy solo goal in which he dribbled past 3 or 4 players before slotting in. 17 for the season im told and i think this was hat trick number 4. and i dont think he's got man of the match once!! my argument is if you get 10 chances a game (mainly assists from the captain) a 4 goals a game ratio doesn't merit the highest award!!

pan then had one player storm off and then a man sent off for a slight disagreement with mr chairman (to be fair shouting you cheating c@@t isn't normally allowed) before a 2nd red card should have followed for an 'accidental' shoulder tap ended up turning in to a full on assault on the back of el capitanos head. all fair game luckily he had thick woolly gloves on. im avoiding taking the piss for personal safety.

the game then moved on to finish 7-1. just to clear up dan's c.o.t.m he came on as a sub after 10 mins and his first real touch was to control it and then fire wide from 2 yards with an open goal gaping (i personally didn't expect any better). then to cap it off he was substituted off 15 mins from time due to his shocking attempt at being a winger!! to put the icing on the cake and make everyone laugh he blamed it on tiredness instead of accepting it like a man. what a genius

but in all seriousness this is a really good start lads, the performance was superb from everyone and we seem to have a good team spirit mixed with some class in all positions. this match in particular shows we can dig in against the stronger teams and hopefully kicks us on whereas maybe last year we bottled the big games a bit. we just need to push on, the weather has meant we are going to have a lot of games between now and the end of the season but im hoping for as many as possible with a few medals on the end of it!!
