A quick match report for our most recent european tie.
we went into the game expecting a tough match against one of the stronger sides (they beat the holders away last round) and for the first half we got exactly that.
within 5 minutes of kick off levi gave us the perfect start, running on to a through ball before finishing well high into the net. we then sat back a little and allowed some long range shots that bucko did well to not only keep out but also to get it away from the danger zone.
we went in at half time a goal to the good and knew the next goal was vital. we started the second half absolutely flying (which was nice to see as usually we take 15 mins to wake up again). after a corner was swung in from the right baker rose highest to nod towards the near post and chalky was on hand to flick it in. a few minutes later some neat play sent sam clear and he decided to volley from 20 yards which slipped through the keepers legs and into the net.
we then settled a little and a lovely passing move ended with the ball being switched to the right, sam evaded the right backs attempted assault and then sent a cross over which levi did well to head in for our fourth. from there on it was fairly comfortable although andy ash cme on and his only involvement was for the lindford sub to hack him out 4 or 5 times. the referee had a decent game but was a little lenient with some nasty tackles towards the end.
and so we march on to another away tie against inter solent. this was a solid performance from everyone in the side and was a hard fought victory, we seem to have a bit more fight and graft this year so was good to seeus get the job done. and to clear up man and clown of the match, it went to spiersy for a faultless performance (the whole defence did well but spiersy in particular) and baker for his superb attempt at blocking a lindford clearance. he swan dived to the floor in spectacular fashion before getting a chorus of you c**t from the right back and centre back. pure class!!
